3 DAYS / 2NIGHTS TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK / NGORONGORO CRATER

Safari Itinerary:

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire

You will be picked from the hotel after breakfast for the day’s adventure. Drive about three hours to reach Tarangire National park-‘the Home of Elephants ‘with game en route at Tarangire National Park to your lodge for lunch. Later you can enjoy the evening game drive.

Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle one can experience the seasonal swamps, savannah and Tarangire River in search of many animals including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and giraffe. It’s possible that you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. You will exit the park at around 16hrs for your accommodation outside the Ngorongoro conservation area.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

0730 hrs. After breakfast, with picnic lunches depart for the Ngorongoro Crater Tour, descend into the 100-square-mile Ngorongoro Crater. Here you will view game on the vast grasslands of the crater floor. The bottom of the crater is dotted with watering-holes, shelters and almost 30,000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. You will also find the ‘Big Five’: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and is surrounded by very steep walls rising 610m from the floor. It is considered to be one of the natural wonders of the world and is an amazing haven for wildlife throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water.
