Nairobi National Park (4 Hours)

The Nairobi National Park is a unique wildlife sanctuary, just a few kilometres from Nairobi’s bustling city centre. Despite its proximity over 50 species of mammals can be found there including four of the ‘big five’.

As an option, you can visit the animal orphanage where wounded or orphaned animals are nurtured back to health.

The tour returns to the city centre by sundown.

Nairobi City Tour (3 Hours)

The tour covers the modern city centre, the National Museum and the adjacent Snake Park, Parliament Buildings, the Railway Museum where old steam locomotives are exhibited including the one from which Superintendent John Lyall was taken from by a man-eating lion in Tsavo in 1901.  You will also visit the city market where a wide variety of African curios and tropical fruit and flowers are on sale, ending with a visit to the Kenyatta International Conference Centre view-point which has a revolving restaurant.

Karen Blixen and Giraffe Centre (4 Hours)

Drive towards Ngong Hills by passing the Ngong village to the Karen Blixen Museum of the ‘Out of Africa’ fame, which was for many years her home. Later proceed to the Giraffe Centre to view and feed the famous Rothschild’s giraffe which is an endangered species from a specially constructed viewing-platform.

The Carnivore Experience

(Guaranteed daily at 12:30 p.m and 07:00 p.m)

Nairobi has many restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine.  We recommend a dinner or lunch at the  Carnivore, which is famous for its succulent steaks and barbecue, dishes including game meat and is therefore dubbed ‘the meat eaters’ paradise. The restaurant also offers a vegetarian menu; the meal is an excellent complement to a holiday especially as a welcome or farewell dinner.

The cost includes transfers to and from Nairobi City Centre.

Bomas Of Kenya (3 Hours)

A ‘Boma’ is a homestead and just a few kilometres from Nairobi we have the Bomas of Kenya where the day-to-day lives of the 42 different ethnic groups in Kenya are depicted through traditional dancing, music, song and folklore. These plus an acrobatic show are performed in a splendid arena.

Nairobi National Park - Lunch Carnivore - Bomas (1 Day)

After breakfast, leave your Nairobi hotel for the Nairobi National Park, which is 10 km way or 15 minutes drive from the city centre. 4 of the big five except the elephant can be seen and there are a variety of antelopes. The park is home to plenty of migratory game despite its small size being only 114 km2. Hippos and a few crocodiles can be seen in the river pools plus a variety of plains game and birds. You will then proceed to the Carnivore Restaurant, which is dubbed ‘the meat eaters paradise’. Various meats including game meat are served barbecued though the restaurant also has a vegetarian menu. In the afternoon you will visit the Bomas of Kenya where you will be entertained with traditional songs and dance and an acrobatic show in the main arena prior to which you will have visited the ‘Bomas’ or homesteads where the every day lives of the 43 different ethnic groups in Kenya are depicted. Return to the city centre in the evening.

Lake Nakuru Express (1 day)

Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano-strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia.  The 160 km drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending the escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift.

Lunch is taken in the Park and is followed by an extensive tour which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingos but which also seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the park abounds.  On the tea break among the fever trees bird watchers will delight in the fantastic array of bird life.  The tour ends in Nairobi in the late evening.

Amboseli Express (1 day)

Amboseli National Park lies within the shadow of the mighty Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain whose peak may be seen from the park in clear weather. Only nature and all her majesty could create such a back-drop to the wildlife pageant found at Amboseli. Game is seen enroute to the park, which crosses plains where the Masai tribesmen tend their cattle in an age-old tradition. Lunch is taken at a lodge within the park, followed by another gamedrive where lion, cheetah can be seen including elephant and hippo that are found bathing in the swamp-grounds which get their waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to Nairobi in the evening.
